I had the idea of this website after selling a bike on Ebay for the first time because once the  auction ended the buyer immediatley paid me through Paypal which was great but when I received the email saying basically we have your money but you can't have it until you ship the product and wait 21 days or as soon as you get postive feedback. So even though I've always had 100% positive feedback on ALL my Ebay transactions the were holding my money to protect the buyer...The wanted me to PAY out of my own pocket the $100 shipping and then hope that everything went well with shipping and everything else before they would release my money. Since Ebay owns Paypal I guess they could do whatever they want...I contacted the buyer and explained this new policy and he left me positive feedback before I shipped the bike so that Paypal/Ebay would release my money.

Since then I've sold a few other bikes on Ebay and everytime there has been some kind of little glitch in the transaction mostly with the boxing/shipping end of it.

I figured that the Ebay concept is great but that it would be much better to just be able to pick up the bike locally and pay the buyer directly and that way Ebay and Paypal don't take a big percent of your profit and you don't have to worry about UPS damaging the bikes during shipping. A good friend of mine sold a beautiful Italian Grandis that he had acquired from the original owner that had kept it like new the past 30 years. My friend shipped the bike through UPS to New York and when the buyer received the bike the frame was bent even though it was very well packed. UPS did pay the value of the bike but to me it was such a shame that a beautiful piece of biking history was destroyed during shipping.

Since having the idea of the Auction site I've been aquiring many bikes and have a grown a passion for the vintage high end road bikes.

Some of the bikes in my collection are a 1992 Bridgestone X-01, Specialized Allez Jim Merz Edition, Eddy Merckx Corsa, Pro Miyata, Panasonic DX-5000, Geurciotti, Ross Signature with Shimano Arrowhead components and many other cool, vintage road bikes.

I want this site to not only be a place to buy and sell your bikes but also a place where you can go and meet other people that are also into the same types of bikes as you are and if you have any questions about anything bike related you can get those questions answered.
